Born in Scotland in 1950, Heather immigrated to South Africa with her family when she was eight years old.
Now married with three children and living in Simon’s Town, she has become a dedicated and prolific artist who abounds in energy and enthusiasm.
Inspired by everyday life in South Africa, especially the African women, she has created a large body of work using oils and acrylics also sculpting in wax which is cast in bronze.
After several years of teaching, Heather has set up her studio in Glencairn where she devotes herself entirely to preparing exhibition pieces.
Working as a painter and sculptor since 1991, Heather finds the act of creating to be a journey of self-discovery, producing artwork honestly and seriously and finding the experience a continual delight.
